Christopher Whitehead Language College Expansion Phases 1 & 2

The school has seen two expansion projects in recent years and we have had the pleasure of seeing through from initial inception to completion. The first phase consisted of a new block which was an extension of the original building to provide 21 science and general classrooms, sixth form common room and ancillary areas all on three floors. The second phase was to create 12 IT, science, music and humanities classrooms as well as drama and dance studios, changing rooms and ancillary areas. The existing electrical and gas supplies needed to be upgraded to the school, which we managed as well as demolition of an existing drama and dance studio and asbestos removal.

The total works were in excess of £6m and has enabled the school to increase pupil numbers due to significant local housing development.
