Fees

Providing a fee for our services will depend on several factors:

  • Nature and scope of work – replacement lighting, windows, roofs, etc., can be fairly straightforward and therefore fees may be lower for these types of projects. DT block refurbishments, department remodelling, and new build projects may be more complex and therefore attract a higher fee. 
  • A lower fee would be charged for a planning application to extend the approval of a temporary classroom than for a planning application for a new school block.
  • Size of project – We often base our fees on a percentage of the construction costs of a project, so a project of a few thousand pounds will attract a lower fee percentage than one of several million pounds and there will be a whole range of project sizes in between. We can offer a fixed price fee if the Client prefers.
  • Disciplines required – some projects will require architectural design, electrical, mechanical, structural, Principal Designer, quantity surveying, ecologist services, etc., whereas some projects will only require the services of a building surveyor. The number of disciplines required will increase the amount of fees for a project but we manage sub-consultants without levying any service or administration charges.
  • Timescales for the project – we can be as responsive as required to get your project underway. Where we need to work beyond normal working hours this may incur a higher fee than a project that has more time to plan and programme.

Our fees are typically between 8% – 12% of the construction value of the project, which are very competitive. We would be happy to tailor our fee to the services you require from us, and this would be a matter of negotiation between you and us. Often, we can provide discounts for multiple projects, property support services, etc.

Similarly, a discount can be offered if you are willing to appoint us on a partnering or framework arrangement to handle your projects for a set number of years.
